Mushroom Collector's Journal

4-H is the youth education component of Cornell Cooperative Extension. 4-H Youth Development Programs are open to all youth in grades K – 12 throughout New York State, regardless of geographic location, ethnic, racial, economic, and educational backgrounds. Its purpose is to create supportive learning environments where diverse groups of youth and adults can reach their fullest potential as capable, competent and caring citizens.

The NYS Fair is an opportunity for youth to put their leadership skills on display.

Participation in the State Fair is yet another exciting opportunity for Positive Youth Development. For youth, the State Fair is a leadership opportunity, is educational and entertaining.

The Mushroom Collector's Journal is designed to familiarize youths with collection and identification techniques used by professional mycologists and to sharpen observation, note-taking and photography skill sets.
