Cornell Garden-Based Learning – Provides educators and gardeners with inspiring, research-based gardening resources and professional development to support engaging, empowering, and relevant learning experiences for youth, adults, and communities.
Cornell Master Gardener Volunteer Program – Prepares volunteers to be peer educators who build relationships with community audiences. Volunteers integrate local experience and research-based knowledge in planning for and initiating steps to manage gardens, lawns, and landscapes. They emphasize on food security and environmental stewardship.
Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Local Offices – Contacts to help you find local expertise for your plant problems. Services vary from county to county in New York State. But many counties have Extension educators and/or Master Gardener Volunteer hotlines that can help you solve plant disease problems or design your gardens and landscapes to avoid them.
Insect Diagnostic Laboratory – Based in Cornell’s Department of Entomology, the Insect Diagnostic Lab can help identify insects and related arthropods, and provide management suggestions if needed. $25 fee for samples or photos submitted to the lab for ID helps fund the lab.
Cornell Soil Health Lab – Provides standardized information on important soil biological and physical constraints in addition to standard nutrient analyses. For basic soil nutrient analyses, heavy metal plant, tissue, compost, manure, biolsolids, soilless growing media, irrigation water, wood ash and organic residual testing, consider:
